Long Island Man, 20, Charged With Dwai After Running Red Light, Sheriff Says

A 20-year-old man who was stopped after he ran through a red light in Brookhaven was allegedly driving while under the influence of drugs, the Suffolk County Sheriff announced.

Nesconset resident Robert Marron was stopped by Sheriff’s Deputies was stopped on Middle Country Road at approximately 1:24 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24 when he sped through a red light.

According to deputies, during the subsequent stop, Marron “demonstrated clues while performing standardized field sobriety tests indicating he was impaired.” He was also found to be in the possession of marijuana.

Marron was arrested and transported to the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Enforcement Bureau in Yaphank, where he was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was released following his processing. No return court date has been announced by the Sheriff’s Office.
